Basil Munroe Godevenos is a writer who cleverly disguises himself as an editor for a big legal publishing firm for 8 hours every weekday.
Basil’s interest in writing began in third grade, and his fascination with fantasy wasn’t far behind when he read The Hobbit in fourth grade. Basil’s fascination with the Internet was birthed on a “Take your Kid to Work Day” in ninth grade, where he accompanied his older sister to her new job at IBM. Another kid showed him WebCrawler and they looked up pictures of Bart Simpson together. (Wasn’t the ‘Net great back then kids?)
Along with a keenness for sci-fi, fantasy, and other geeky stuff like gadgets and video games, Basil concerns himself with being ecologically conscious. He drives a smart fortwo diesel, and looks forward to the day when he can purchase a hybrid car or something even better. He also looks forward to owning his own roof, where he will lay solar panelling and mount a wind turbine. “A pox on the power grid,” says he.
Basil is the author of Disjoint, a collection of his short fiction and poetry (available from Lulu.com). He lives in Toronto with his wife, Emma, and their two cats, Ollie and Simon.
